Shungite & Turquoise Mala Necklace

We are proud to offer these special shungite mala bead necklaces made by artist Aaron Schwaller of Bliss Alchemy. He was interested in having a shungite mala himself when he realized how difficult it was to find an authentic and beautiful mala made with enough shungite to actually have a dramatic effect on electromagnetic radiation. Aaron uses only the highest quality materials to make his shungite malas so you can be assured that they last and have good healing properties.

Shungite has long been renowned for its antimicrobial effect on water. Recently it has also been shown to reduce EMF radiation. We at Bliss Alchemy actually tested this with an EMF meter ourselves to be sure that these malas would reduce electromagnetic frequencies. What we found was that these malas do reduce the common electromagnetic frequencies that are found within our homes and living environment. We were surprised that the meter measured the malas reducing it by 95%! This is due to the fullerenes that exist within shungite. They are quite a magical element (scientifically called an ‘allotrope of carbon’) that is found naturally in shungite. In fact this is the only natural form of fullerenes known on planet Earth.

We order our shungite mala beads straight from the source in Kerelia, Russia. We make sure they are authentic and test our shungite for their effectiveness to reduce electromagnetic frequencies. Some of my other favorite qualities of shungite is that it consists of about 98% carbon, has an unknown mysterious origin and it was formed at least 2 billion years ago. Personally we think it is neat to wear something so ancient when the Earth was filled with natural raw intelligence.

Mala bead necklaces have long been used in yoga specifically for japa meditation which is the repetitive recitation of mantras. Traditionally they are made with 108 similar beads and with one larger ‘guru’ bead, also known as the ‘sumeru’. Our shungite malas follow this pattern and can be used as a traditional mala with the benefit of the healing and protective powers of shungite.

When you receive your mala, the shungite will have a polished look, and after some time, this polished look will wear off and the color of the shungite and other gems may deepen.
